I chose to review Cinn City as my first post because it is one of Lynchburg's newest additions!

Description: A small eatery featuring gourmet cinnamon buns and beignets

Price: $3.50

Why it's a treasure: Endless combinations for flavors and toppings

Cream cheese frosting, brownie bites and marshmallow toppings with caramel drizzle

A word to the wise before heading to Cinn City, Lynchburg's finest (and only?) cinnamon bun shop. Forget the diet. Today is your cheat day. Today is the day to wear elastic waist bands and blousy tops. Don't even try to go the gym beforehand to "make up for it." It won't work. Embrace it.

Today is also the day you will seriously consider forsaking those Pillsbury cinnamon buns, the kind with the microwavable cream cheese icing that you usually eat while watching Elf in your Christmas pajamas. Ever had a cinnamon bun draped with caramel frosting, topped with cookie dough pieces and drizzled with white chocolate? How about peanut butter frosting, coco puff topping and honey drizzle? Or perhaps, almond, Andes mints and chocolate? I'm telling you, this place is a game-changer with all its endless possibilities for deliciousness. I was going to try to calculate the number of possible combinations for a cinnamon bun creation, but I forgot how to multiply exponents.

I went with a real calorie torcher for my first time at Cinn City….coffee frosting, brownie bite topping, and caramel drizzle. Alex also opted for brownie bites, but chose cream cheese frosting and added some marshmallows. (Because at this point, why not?) Welcome to your food coma of the day. They were amazing! The cinnamon buns were warm and gooey, the frostings offered the perfect kick, and the brownie bite topping was just….basically a huge brownie smooshed on top. Alex’s all-time favorite dessert are brownies, and he even said he would get the cinnamon bun again just to eat the brownie.

As for pricing, each bun was $3.50. We both thought the buns themselves were a little on the small size, but I don’t think we could have eaten more anyway with everything that comes on top of the bun. Worth it for us!

Needless to say, I have found my new weakness. So grab those stretch pants and make your way to the Cinn City!
