Download a free app to go on a scavenger hunt around the 'Burg!

Description: Scavenger hunt with mobile app

Price: Free

Great for: Family activity

If you're all about free fun, then geocaching is for you. The Geocaching app is free to download and shows you a map with all the buried Geocaches in the area. It also has a compass and clues to help you. For those who don't know about Geocaching, you are looking for an object, which will be described on the app. You'll certainly look a little odd wandering in circles, but Pokemon Go is essentially the same thing. So there.

We started in downtown Lynchburg near Amazement Square and worked our way through the city. We then drove towards the Timberlake area, though there are plenty available in other directions. Once you find the Geocache container, sign the log book and mark your success on the app. Make sure to bring a small prize to leave behind so you can take something from the box!

And if any of you find the Geocache on the walking trail of Cornerstone...you should be in the next National Treasure. It's impossible!!
